At Talent Direct Agency (TDA), the safety and security of our talent community is incredibly important to us. We’ve recently become aware of individuals on social media who are pretending to be scouts or representatives affiliated with Talent Direct Agency.

We want to make it clear: these individuals are NOT affiliated with Talent Direct Agency.

Unfortunately, talent scams can happen across social media and online platforms, making it important to know what to look for and how to protect yourself.

How to Spot a Potential Talent Scam

If someone contacts you claiming to represent TDA—or any talent agency—take a moment to verify who they are before responding or providing any information.

Be especially cautious if someone:

Asks you to send money, upfront fees, or payment to secure representation or a job
Requests banking or financial information
Asks for identification or other sensitive personal information through an unverified account
Pressures you to act immediately or discourages you from verifying their identity
Contacts you from an account that appears suspicious or does not match the agency's official communication channels
Makes promises about guaranteed bookings, auditions, or employment in exchange for payment

A legitimate opportunity should never require you to ignore your instincts or skip the verification process.

How to Verify a TDA Communication

Official Talent Direct Agency communications will come from an @talentdirect.com email address.

If someone contacts you through social media claiming to be affiliated with TDA, don't assume the account is legitimate simply because it uses our name, logo, photos, or information about the agency.

When in doubt, stop and verify.

Research the individual, check the account carefully, and contact Talent Direct Agency through our official channels to confirm whether the person is actually affiliated with our agency.

What Should You Do If You Encounter a Suspicious Account?

If you come across a social media profile claiming to represent TDA that appears suspicious, or someone asks you for money or sensitive information:

1. Don't send money or personal information.
Pause the conversation until you can verify who you're dealing with.

2. Don't click suspicious links or provide login information.
Protect your accounts and personal information.

3. Report the profile to the social media platform.
Reporting suspicious accounts can help prevent others from being targeted.

4. Let Talent Direct Agency know.
If you believe someone is falsely claiming to represent TDA, please notify us as soon as possible so we can be aware of the situation and take appropriate steps.

The best way to protect yourself is to slow down. Scammers often rely on urgency and pressure to get people to act before they have time to think.
